The Temple – All children, Pre-K through 4th grade, assemble together in this room at 9:45 for a time of welcome and orientation. The theme of study for the rotation is presented or reviewed along with the memory verse. Children also participate in a brief time of praise and worship before dismissing to the day’s workshop classroom. An offering is taken and attendance records completed during assembly time as well.
WORKSHOPS
Miracle Theater – The kids have an authentic cinematic experience as they enter the village movie house complete with theater seating, a large screen projection system, stereo surround sound and a popcorn machine. They watch the Bible story or concept unfold on the big screen and have opportunities for questions during follow-up discussions and activities.
Holy Word Productions – The group recreates the story or concept by working together in the production of a play, puppet skit, or other performance. Not only are actors needed for our stage, but the director’s chairs must also be filled. Technical assistance is needed for videotaping and special effects as well. There is an important task for each and every child.
Cross Training Gym – Children gain Bible knowledge through fun and exciting games and activities. Rotation lessons are addressed, but the gym workshop is also used to develop Bible literacy and a passion for studying God’s Word.
Cornerstone Creations – Children participate in creative hands-on projects to learn more about the Bible story or concept.
BibleQuest.com – Computer activities are used to learn more about the rotation story or concept and to promote overall Bible literacy in this workshop.
Mary and Martha’s Kitchen – Cooking activities are used to teach rotation objectives in this class. The group prepares a tasty treat that helps them remember a Biblical truth. This workshop is conducted downstairs in the Preschool workroom.
Solomon’s Challenge – At the end of each rotation, the children participate in a quiz bowl type activity entitled Solomon’s Challenge. The team members work together to earn points to show just how much they learned during the rotation. In this game, everyone is a winner.
Using the “rotation” program, each group of children visits a different location in the Bible Village each Sunday for five or six weeks. At the end of the rotation, the children will have experienced one Bible lesson in a variety of activities. All their senses will have been engaged in the learning process, and it will be much easier for them to remember the message and the memory verse.
